The page cover is a great way to personalize your personal or public Facebook page. It is the large image that is shown in the header of all Facebook pages and profiles. The exact Facebook Page cover dimensions have changed a lot of times over the years. Especially the placement of the buttons and profile image over the cover image can be problematic. The header is not responsive, so it doesnt scale with the screen. However, it is displayed differently on the app and mobile website.
Facebook cover dimensions
The total size of the cover is 828x313px. The page title, options and profile image are (partially) displayed over the image, so keep this in mind when creating your image. In our template you will see where they are located. Keep your important content away from them, or integrate them with your design!
Mobile website and app
The header is displayed differently across platforms, with variations in the placement of page options and page title. The full height of the image is always shown, but the image is equally cut off on both the left and right side to fit the size of the screen.
On the mobile website, 145px is cut off from each side. In the app, this is 155px (at least it is on Windows Phone). The lower half of the image is pretty much reserved for different variations of displaying the page title, profile image and page options.
It is pretty tough to create an image that works nicely across platforms, so this requires some trial and error!
