The template above contains the current Facebook group cover dimensions.
The current Facebook group cover size is 784px wide, and 248px high.
It is not responsive, so it doesn’t adjust to the size of the screen. However, on the mobile website or app, the image is cut off on both sides.
Things to keep in mind
The page options (such as Join, Share, Notifications) are only visible on the desktop version of the Facebook website, and are shown in the bottom right corner of the header.
The mobile version shows the page title and description in the bottom left corner. Both the page options and page title are things to keep in mind when creating your page cover, because they will overlap your content.
A call to action (eg: an arrow pointing to the “Join” button) is possible, but keep in mind that this won’t make any sense on the mobile version.
What not to do
The Facebook terms state the following: “Cover photos can’t be deceptive, misleading, infringe on anyone else’s copyright or be in violation of the Pages Terms.”
